Woohoo!! Excited to find out l've been selected for Petite Collection's Finalist exhibition SMALL WORKS ART PRIZE judged by Ken Done!
I have huge admiration for the fabulous Australian icon that is Ken Done, best known for his playful markmaking, bold colour palettes and many design projects. Ken Done is easily identifiable as one of Australia's most well-renowned artists.
Here's a story - Last year I was in QLD and flew back to Melbourne on the opening night of Ken Done's latest art exhibition. I'd seen Ken's work before at his Sydney gallery in The Rocks and I admire the joy in his work and really wanted to see his latest creations so l drove straight from the airport, slapped on some fresh clothes and makeup in the car then walked into the gallery to see the stunning and colourful new canvases.
Wow!! I was then very fortunate to chat with Ken about his work and all his achievements. He is so full of life and energy just like his artworks. I went on to describe my favourite vibrant pink doona cover designed by him that brightened my bedroom many years ago. It had flowers, butterflies and yachts and made me feel happy! I wish I still had it!!
