I'm Jen Shewring, a full-time artist based in Richmond, Victoria. Most weekends I walk through Red Hill's trees and farmlands, finding inspiration for my landscape and floral paintings. Life is busy with three kids, two cats, and a recent move to Hawthorn. I'm passionate about environmental protection, reuse, and recycling. My family enjoys traveling, especially visiting our family in the UK and where there are so many wonderful art museums. While I appreciate quiet time alone in the studio, I also enjoy meeting people and exploring new places.
At present, I am developing a series inspired by the distinctive shapes and shadows found within the trees and landscapes of Red Hill. This body of work employs a semi-abstract impressionist approach, utilizing vibrant colours to convey the inherent joy of nature.
*Red Hill is a historical farmland area located on the Mornington Peninsula about one hour drive from Melbourne.
